Texans without health insurance can begin signing for coverage starting this Saturday, Nov. 15th until Feb 15th 2015. Millions of people across the country and in Texas have already enrolled in health insurance. Our communities in South Texas and on the border have among the lowest rates of health insurance coverage in the country as well as some of the highest rates of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other issues. Having health insurance means peace of mind not just for you but for those who depend on you – children, parents, and grandparents. With the opening of this year’s enrollment period, I want to encourage people who do not have insurance to start looking at your options early at healthcare.gov or cuidadodesaludo.gov.
