It appears that Guyer High School in Denton, Tx. is using advanced US History placement books that water down the wording of the 2nd Amendment, as well as the 1st Amendment. The book they are using is available on Amazon and has only received a 2 star rating with MANY negative comments on how horribly it is written. Parents, pay attention to what your local school districts are teaching your kids! Here is an excerpt from the article: A Texas high school is using a textbook that changes the wording of the Second Amendment to weaken gun rights. The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” But at Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, an Advanced Placement U.S. History textbook has rewritten the Second Amendment as: “The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.” “The textbook’s version implies that only state-sanctioned police or military forces are allowed to carry a gun, which is neither correct, nor the intention of the founders,” The wording of other amendments is also changed. The textbook says that the First Amendment prohibits Congress from favoring one religion over another, when in fact it says that Congress shall make no law “respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
