Texas Education Agency has released district and campus ratings for 2014 that can be accessed through their website. The following categories are used to determine accountability ratings for each district and campus: Index 1: Student Achievement Index 2: Student Progress Index 3: Closing Performance Gaps Index 4: Postsecondary Readiness In addition, academic distinctions can be obtained for districts/campuses that excel in certain areas. The following are the ratings for CISD: Community ISD (District Rating)- Met Standard (Met All 4 Index Criteria) Community High School- Met Standard (Met All Index Criteria) Edge MS- Met Standard (All Criteria) + Academic Distinction in Social Studies McClendon Elem.- Improvement Required (Due to missing Index 3 by 1 point; Index 1, 2, and 4= Met Standard) NeSmith Elem.- Paired with McClendon Elem. for accountability purposes due to no state assessments in Grades PK-2 We would like to congratulate the district and campuses that received the highest rating of Met Standard, as well as Edge MS for their academic distinction. CISD will review and validate the data closely for McClendon Elementary to confirm the accuracy of missing Met Standard by one point in one index. Appeals can be made until Sept. 9, 2014 so we will investigate Index 3 data at MES closely. We understand a student is more than a number and a school is much more than a rating. However, CISD places top priority on academic success and believes in continuous improvement in all areas.
