Texas Lawmaker Wants to Block Furloughs at DoD in 2014: Rep. Beto O’Rourke of Texas has offered an amendment to the House’s 2014 Defense spending bill to block furloughs of Defense civilian employees in 2014. “I hold town hall meetings and I’m hearing from more and more of my constituents asking how they will put food on the table, meet mortgage payments and also do their jobs,” Rep.
