Texas agency to add 4K cameras along Mexico border AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is planning to add 4,000 surveillance cameras along the Mexico border. The agency’s director, Steve McCraw, says installations of the new devices will stretch from El Paso to Brownsville. The San Antonio Express-News (bit.ly/1vUr2Zp ) reports about 1,300 motion-sensitive cameras are stationed along the border. The additional technology will help law enforcement’s monitoring efforts as National Guard troops, assigned to several observation posts in the Rio Grande Valley, are set to leave in March. McCraw says the department will work as quickly as possible to set up the cameras. ___ Information from: San Antonio Express-News, mysanantonio newsintx/texas-agency-to-add-4k-cameras-along-mexico-border/
