Texas has similar restrictions. We looked into doing a solar farm on our land but the city will on buy back a VERY SMALL amount of power making it a poor investment. And it is illegal to sell power to anyone but the power companies. So we couldnt sell to our neighbors for instance. Pretty sure we can still legally live off the grid in Texas but the legislation makes motivation and capital gain weak with lots of red tape.
