It has come to our attention that that management of UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AFRICA will go out to Germiston this Monday the 10th NOVEMBER 2014 to look for an alternative place. Ekurhuleni center manager has confirmed that there is a possibility that this campus be moved but she has no information as to what exactly will happen. Our view is that UNISA has unfairly mistreated this campus with their disease of not engaging student structures. They continue failing students by not following proper consultation methods. After all discussions and assurances made by management that Ekurhuleni campus will not be moved, it is a slap in the face of the already abused students to move them without their consent and worse at the 11th hour. Should such information be accurate and Unisa decides that this campus be relocated, we will be left with no choice but to seek a COURT INTERDICT in efforts to try halt such an act. With all the information surfacing, Ekurhuleni Task Team requests that NSRC deal directly with the office of Prof Makhanya, the Minister of higher education higher education and also for the NSRC to release a press statement stating our views in this matter. If reality is that this a political matter, then it is in the best interest of all student structures of this institution to step up and intensify the fight through media and make sure that the ghost individuals campaigning to exploit and defy the will of students be exposed.
