Thank God For Daily Miracles Glory be to God, today is the last Sunday of this month and the last day we shall minister on the theme of the month which is the Kingdom Character. Many things have been said about the Character of the Kingdom Citizens. Today, we shall round it up by exploring one of the marks, evidences and attributes of the Citizens of the Kingdom, which is, thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not optional to the Kingdom Citizens, it is compulsory and commanded by the King of the Kingdom - in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thes. 5:18. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Phil. 4:4. Obedience is another mark of the Kingdom Citizens, if therefore, we love to carry out the wishes of our King, we must be thankful in everything. A lot of us will be thankful if we pray and the dead rises, blind sees, deaf hears, sun stops from settling down, cancer disappears instantly, etc. All these situations, are called miracles. According to Oxford Dictionary, miracle is an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to divine agency. Due to secular and worldly definitions of miracle, the Kingdom Citizens have also been carried away by neglecting, not appreciating and not been thankful for the daily miracles they receive. Therefore, for the next few minutes, we shall talk on some of these daily miracles that we take for granted. Firstly, who made you to sleep last night without sleeping tablets? Its God! ...For so He gives His beloved sleep Ps. 127:2. To sleep is a miracle. Its the same power of God that raises the dead that gives the ability to sleep to His own people. Since it doesnt look spectacular we take it for granted. Thank God! Secondly, who enabled you to wake up this morning? Definitely, your waking up is the prerogative act of God. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me Ps. 3:5. If miracle is the act of God, this Scripture says, it is God who makes you to wake up, what then is that? A miracle! Have you thanked Him for that? Thirdly, Jesus asked, Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Matt. 6:27. In other words, no man can add one cubit to his stature. This means, no man can put on or loose weight by his own power. Also no man can extend his life span on earth on his own accord. Therefore, you either loose or gain weight, grow in height or live to see another day is the act of God. That also is a miracle! Thank Him for that. Fourthly, you have hair on your head, you cut it, it grows back. Who is responsible for this growth? God! Have you thanked God for this? Since this is the act of God, its a miracle! Jesus says, But the very hairs of your head are all numbered Matt. 10:30. He does not make them to grow alone, He numbers them as well. He knows the missing ones on your head. Thank God for hair growth! Lastly, due to time and space, let me mention one more daily miracles we take for granted. The Psalmist says, These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season. What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good. You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust Ps. 104:27-29. Your daily food and your breath, who give them? According to this Scripture, it is God. If He doesnt make the crops to grow, you cant have them as food. If He doesnt give you breath, you will have died. Are all these not His acts? If yes, every act of God is a miracle! Thank God for your daily food and for giving you the breath of life! In conclusion, brethren, my point is this, stop waiting for the spectacular, extra ordinary to happen before you know that they are the works of God, miracles and and then jump for joy to thank God, acknowledge Him and confirm that God is with you, on your side, has called you or answers your prayers. All these things we take for granted are miracles also. As Kingdom Citizens, lets change our thinking, renew our minds and thank God in everything, every time and every where. The grace to do this continually shall be released upon us in the name of Jesus. Amen!
