Thank God for Kathy Davis! Trying to sort through airlines, - TopicsExpress

Thank God for Kathy Davis! Trying to sort through airlines, embargoes, cargo office hours, minimum connection time requirements, *and* plane types was about to drive me insane. There *is* a 6 a.m. direct Delta flight out of Tuscon that would work nicely to dodge the heat--but I have to check in the dog two hours before departure, and the office isnt open early enough. Or else United out of Tucson, with no heat embargo so time isnt as vital--but they cant accept live animals on the specific type of regional jet (Embraer) that is used on one leg of nearly all flights to Atlanta, rergardless of connection city--or else the connecting isnt a minimum of two hours. But I had an idea, talked to Kathy, and it will work. Poor Sharleen will have to wait longer for her puppy, but it will get her there! Next Saturday I will drive Arbie/Lonnie up to Kathys in Phoenix, leave her there, go back to Tucson, and Kathy will take her to the airport Sunday morning. United has flights that dont leave at 0-Dark-30, so Kathy wouldnt have to drop her off too horribly early, and the puppy will get into Atlanta in the evening when temps there will be cooler. I still have to sort through plane types, but there are a couple more options, now! (Apparently the Embraer regional jets get too warm.) I hope to breed Blithe next summer, but of course there are 9 weeks of gestation and 9-10 weeks before the babies leave, so shipping out of AZ wouldnt be as problematical . . . only at the other end, if destination is cold country!
