Dont call the police unless you really need them. And if you do deal with them, be veeery careful to follow their orders to the letter. I think its the training thats partly at fault. I get the impression officers are put through this regimen where theyre constantly being jumped by people in all kinds of ambush situations presumably zipped up on PCP and therefore require something like a hand grenade to stop em. In this case, its pretty clear the officer panicked. And the result is that the civilian is in the hospital and the officer is facing prison.
