Thank “T”- Represents the cross whether black or brown. It also represents the thanksgiving all of mankind should have in his heart as Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice for all sin is remembered (Gal 3:13). We must thank Him every day through our prayers (Phil 4:6) for being obedient to God unto death… even the death on the cross (Phil 2:8). You “Y“- Symbolizes the blood Christ shed for us (Heb 9:12-14) on the cross where He took on the sins of the world (Matt 26:28,27:46). The red silhouette is a reminder of the fulfillment of the prophecy when God promised to reconcile us back to Himself (Col 1:19-20) through the red blood of His only begotten Son (John 3:16-17). It is also a reminder of the new covenant God made with us (Heb 8:7-13) through the only mediator He chose for us, Christ (I Tim 2:5-6). Jesus “J“- Purple raiment became a mark of distinction in ancient times (Judg 8:26) because of its costliness. Its value may explain why they divided His robe at the crucifixion and cast lots for it (Matt 27:35). Purple represents all power which was given to Christ by the King of Kings (Matt 28:19). Through His resurrection from death He took the power of death away from the devil who through the fear of death would have subjected us to a lifetime of bondage (Heb2:14,15).The purple also represents the deity of Jesus the Christ; one that He laid aside to come in the form of man to be a servant (Phil 2:7). Royalty was so dressed (Matt 27:37, Acts 5:31).
