Captain Joseph C McConnell the highest scoring Sabre and USAF ace of the Korean war scoring 16.5 kills just only beating James Jabra. here in this photo we see Joseph with his Sabre Beautious Butch the 1st McConnell flew 3 Sabres Beautious Butch The 1st serial number 51-2573 buzz number (FU-573) which was an F-86E-10-NA his second one 51-12971 buzz number (FU-971) of which he was shot down flying the second one was an F-86F-15-NA his last Sabre Beautious Butch II serail number 51-2910 buzz number (FU-910) an F-86F-1-NA picutred to the right is Captain Hal Fischer who had 10 Victories and was shot down on April 1953 over China and was not released till May 31st 1955 his aircraft F-86-10-NA serial number 51-12958 buzz number (FU-958) The Paper Tiger .During the Second World War McConeell was a B-24 Naviagtor, both pilots served with the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing 39th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in Korea, source:thisdayinaviation/tag/f-86e/
