My father passed down his musical gene to me, I do live musical theatre for a living. My father was incredibly proud that I was not only a working actor in NYC, but one with a pension and the VP of Actors Equity Association. My father was always encouraging in my career without being a pushy stage parent. I know that he will be at every curtain call from now on.
