Thank you All---- On this day last year at 10 AM, I was sitting across from a funeral director trying to make arrangements for Alice. I was in deep shock and had had zero sleep. Friends and family began to flood the house. Everyone was a wreck. On this day this year at 10 AM, I had a meeting with Gail Wilburn, the Executive Director of SCCC, to give her the money that we all raised at Agastock in Alices name, and to discuss ways to make the event more successful next year. I am no longer in shock, and though I did not sleep great last night, I did sleep. The house is quiet today. What a difference a year makes. It makes time seem so illusory and arbitrary. Agastock has raised over $5800 so far, with funds still trickling in. I am so grateful to all who played, donated, attended, contributed, promoted, volunteered or helped in any way. The SCCC is thankful and thrilled as well. It means so much to me that you all thought enough of my family, and this cause, to help. Thank you also to everyone who supported me and my entire extended family yesterday, and throughout the the year. I sincerely would not be standing without you. Every note, every prayer, every dollar, every meal, every offer of help of any kind is appreciated more than I can say. It does indeed take a village, and my village has proven to be an enviable place to live. I came home from my meeting to find this baby butterfly. It let me get inches away from it. It made me smile.
