Thank you Bunnys Best, for reposting this one for me!!! My mom always made these cranberry meatballs for parties and served then alongside a little glass filled with frilly toothpicks. These were a really good seller at the deli, where they acquired the name CRANBALLS because we didnt think men would order them if we called them cranberry meatballs. We were right, they ordered them like crazy after the name change. When I was growing up I always helped my mom roll the meatballs. Nowadays decent quality frozen meatballs are available everywhere. A five lb. bag from a wholesale club will fill a half size disposable aluminum pan perfectly. You can cook and serve them in a crock pot also if youd like. #easypeasy I use Ocean Spray, just as my mother did. Ive tried more than once with a store brand and in my (very strong) opinion.....not worth the few pennies saved. CRANBALLS 5 lbs. cocktail size meatballs 3 14 oz. cans Ocean Spray WHOLE BERRY cranberry sauce 3 8 oz. cans tomato sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional) -In a large sauce pan on the stove add the three cans of cranberry, the three can of tomato sauce and the brown sugar. Heat and simmer for about 25-30 minutes. -Add meatballs and coat well with sauce. Cook over medium heat until warmed throughout. Serve with frilly toothpicks! -If canning a pressure canner MUST be used. Follow proper canning procedures and fill your jars, remove air pockets and leave 1 headspace. Process pints 75 min. qts. 90 min. If using frozen store bought meatballs, I like to bake them in the oven for a little bit to render off the grease. Then put them in the sauce. If making your own, Bakethem fully then add to sauce
