Thank you Chrissy for the add. My dog Riley, a 7 year old mixed breed male, completely lost his sight on Jan. 19th. Our vet referred us to a vet ophthalmologist at OSU where they determined that his retinas are fine, so a brain lesion or a brain tumor is pressing on his optic nerve. They recommended that we get a MRI to confirm this, however we did not because of the cost & there is no cure. We have decided not to put him on prednisone (as recommended by our vet) because of the side effects. So far, blindness is his only noticable symptom & he has adjusted quite well to his condition. I am thankful for your site because any searches online are quite bleak. Its nice to have the support from a group that understands what we are going through.
