Thank you, Governor Quinn, for bringing this beautiful $70.5M Illinois Veterans Home to our Chicago and Illinois Veterans! This facility, to be located in the 38th Ward at Oak Park Avenue and Forest Preserve Drive, will provide long term care for up to 200 of our most deserving and vulnerable Veterans who suffer from Alzheimers Disease, dementia and other special needs. Governor Quinn has encouraged Veteran-owned contracting firms to bid on the project which will provide hundreds of construction jobs and 250 permanent jobs. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held this past weekend. This facility will be the fifth Veterans Home in Illinois, and the very first to be located in Chicago.
