Thank you J.J. Smith for the nomination to complete the Strike Out - TopicsExpress

Thank you J.J. Smith for the nomination to complete the Strike Out ALS challenge. ALS, short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases today affecting over 30,000 people around the country. To address this challenge, I have elected to make a contribution to the ALS foundation on their website: alsa.org. I encourage everyone to do the same, and I will post my receipt in the comments below. Rather than post a video of myself pouring ice water on my head, I would like to share a trailer for a new movie about Stephen Hawking to be released in November of this year. As most may know, Dr. Hawking is one of the most brilliant physicists and cosmologists to have ever imparted his knowledge to the world. Diagnosed with ALS at the age of 21, Dr. Hawking has continued to inspire those afflicted with degenerative disorders today at the anomalous age of 72. Despite his condition, Dr. Hawking has dedicated his life to developing some of the most intricate theories of relativity, quantum mechanics, and black hole radiation that a scarce few can begin to comprehend. I believe this movie will do a fantastic job in illuminating the darker side of ALS that the ice bucket challenge often neglects, while also emphasizing that the disease does not define the patient. https://youtube/watch?v=Salz7uGp72c To continue gaining public support, I would like to nominate Warren Simmons, Josh Moorman, and Erik Gonzalez to complete the Strike Out ALS challenge. You have 24 hours (that’s approximately one day, Josh).
