Thank you Jessica Jann & Jerome Lui for nominating me for the ALS Ice Bucket challenge ;) I was having a hard time with the Ice Bucket challenge because of all the clean water being wasted but I saw how much awareness has been brought to ALS as well as helping to raise over US$22 million and that wouldnt have been possible without the Ice Bucket challenge. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It essentially triggers a slow paralysis in sufferers by causing the nerve cells to stop working and often leads to death within 2-5 years of diagnosis because theres still no cure. We also lost a family friend to ALS. Because its such a good cause I want to help continue to bring awareness and do it as environmentally friendly as possible so I decided to go to the beach and use ocean water. I made my donation to: alsa.org/ charitywater.org/ (to help bring clean drinking water to those in need) And also took this opportunity to donate to: moonlight.org.np/ (our school in Nepal that helps educate underprivileged children) cwshk.org/ (the charity that helped us set up our school in Nepal.
