Thank you John Dougherty for a very fine piece of investigative reporting that I find completely lacking in the local Prescott newspaper and local E-zine. Everyone agrees that losing 19 Hotshots is a tragedy of major proportions. However, if they should not have been on Yarnell Hill in the first place we certainly have a real mess. Darrell Willis needs to man-up and answer the tough questions raised by this article. So far Prescott elected officials are doing their best to avoid answering direct questions and it seems like their press releases are being written by the City Attorney. The city has also hired a Phoenix Public Relations firms to try to mitigate the public relations damage (a CYA effort in MYHO). Your fine article raises questions that demand answers -- answers for the public, but especially answers for the survivors.
