Thank you Melinda Ferguson-Robertson for the nomination to take the Gratitude Challenge. For many years I have made it a practise to begin each day by sitting at the breakfast table and giving a few minutes of intentional thought to three things I am truly thankful for. It situates my attitude to face a little more boldly the challenges that my day will inevitably bring. This is a routine private meditation of sort for me but I will take the challenge and share this mornings gratitude. This is a powerful habit and a great initiative for anyone who does not already practise it. 1. The health, life and freedom of my family and I. Yesterday we sadly said good bye our Uncle Basil who passed away at the age of 88. It was heart breaking to witness his wife ( my aunt) grieve his loss and face the reality of having to spend the rest of her life without the one she loved the dearest. Today, the love of my life, Holly Hoskins , my two sons, Brad Nippard and Jeff Nippard and my daughter Genieva are alive, healthy and well. I can share a conversation, a dream or a concern with them at any time of the day. Every other problem seems tiny through the lens of this gift. 2. Reading, learning and exploring the mysteries of life has always been a joy to me. I love to glean from the expertise of those who have committed their lives to becoming an expert on a given subject. I just completed Jill Geislers Work Happy: What Great Bosses Know and although I didnt really gain any new perspective or insight, it was a refreshing mental meal of motivation and review of what is important. Definitely my best summer read ... I am thankful for it! 3. After being without a pre workout supplement for one month, yesterday I re-experienced the invigorating stimulation of NO Explode once more. As anyone who trains with pre workout can attest, the rush was new and motivational. Cant wait for todays scoop before my arm and shoulder workout. (sometimes, it really is the small things that add flavor to the day) So thankful it sits on my supplement shelf waiting for me. In allegiance to protocol, I nominate Glenn Harnum any or all of our wonderful staff at CDG and Nikki Curlew
