Thank you Mrs T ( Kirsten ) for nominating me! :D So the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, for those who dont know, is to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research. Nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation. However, there are many versions circulating now, & it is now common to donate £3 if you DO the challenge & £10 if you dont! This is not Law... so for those misery guts out there who are whinging & whining (as usual) about this bit of FUN... if you dont want to take part.... you dont have to!! If you dont want to donate... you dont have to!!!! If you just want to do it because its FUN with FRIENDS... then feel free to join in the FUN!!! But if you cant see the point... then dont! But dont whinge about the rest of us who are up for a laugh & WANT to do it, for whatever reason! And if only a percentage of participants do donate... well then what is so bad about that! Most people wont have even heard of ALS... so maybe this has just made a few more people aware. You can do your challenge for ANY charity tho... so I have chosen to do mine for awareness of IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension), & it is my pleasure to do this on behalf of my dear friend Karen Pooley , a sufferer of IIH. So ignore the miserable moaners & have some fun with your chums... either for charity... or to have fun. :D xxx I nominate Ray Nomis & The Phil Lynott Statue, Dublin. :D
