Because of what California did in 2012, we now have an ever growing movement around the country for labeling and more!! Labelgmos.org is committed to not only labeling GMOs but also to supporting local food sovereignty issues. The City Of Los Angeles has a doozy coming up and we need your help to make it happen. That’s right…change IS coming, but only because of the sustained efforts of people like you and me to keep it moving forward. Los Angeles….we need you NOW! In October, your fair city will have the opportunity to join what few other regions have been able to accomplish when their citizens unite for local control of their environment and health-- L.A. City Council Member Paul Koretz is introducing an ordinance to create a GMO Free L.A.!! What does this mean? It means that urban farms and gardens will be protected from GMO contamination now and in the future. It will mean fewer dangerous pesticides on our playgrounds and golf courses. It means Angelenos, not corporations, will be in control of their home town. What needs to happen to make Los Angeles GMO Free? First step- Volunteer to gather signatures at the Los Angeles Green Festival, September 12-14. You can simply sign up here or reply to this email and well talk. Either way, someone will contact you to give you the details. Los Angeles is poised to join Marin, Mendocino, Santa Cruz and Trinity counties in California, Jackson and Josephine Counties in Oregon and the San Juan Islands in WA as GMO Free Zones.
