Thank you, Patsy Wagner, for your brainwave and thank you to the gals of Animal Outreach and Mike, for going with the idea of creating a touch farm so that AACL can bring all those children from the indigent Northern areas to learn the wonder of loving and caring for an animal. We had a great morning yesterday. My Pearson Grade 11s performed an Esmerelda environmental/animal/Christmas play for 31 littlies from Helenvale, gave them party packs and gifts and then it was time for some magic ... touching and even sitting on the back of a very large pig, overcoming that initial fear, and feeding the horses and donkeys and enjoying the love and attention of 70 free-range dogs and cats. Thank you, Megan Hillmer, Hayley Bothma, Tayla Paige Tomlinson, Charine Blondii le Roux, Nicola Henderson and, Savana Ponzo - you did a great job and a huge thanks to the parents for lifting, etc. and to Megans Mom for the special cupcakes and for packing those party packs! You saw how precious they were to the children.
