Thank you Peter for this warning: Just a note of warning, friends. Over the past three days, I have received 7 phone calls to my mobile from a set of numbers ranging from 0451*518*424 to 0451*518*497. I Googled the numbers and it seems that they are in a bank of numbers being used by Scammers ~ after over an hour on the phone with exceptionally helpful and willing customer service representatives from various areas within Telstra, they have been able to confirm this. Please DO NOT answer the calls and DO NOT call the numbers back. Telstra cannot block Mobile numbers from calling you, only landline numbers but they have offered the following advice: 1) Make sure your phones, including your Mobiles are registered on the National Do Not Call Register: https://donotcall.gov.au/ 2) If, after you have registered, you keep getting calls from these numbers, please notify your telephone service providers and ask them to register a complaint and escalate it ~ the more of us who do this, the faster and better and more concentrated action that can be taken against these people 3) Read up on your mobile phone software or check out your Apps Store, to see if there is a way for you to block the numbers, yourself. If you can, unfortunately, you may have to block each full number, rather than a range but itll save you from accidentally accepting a call or calling them back.
