Thank you Rhonda for this beautiful thought. Who supported Dr King & the his dream of a new better society - and the non-violent struggle against ugly brutal racist bigotry?. True and insanely viscous bigotry. Which churches spoke up for an end to slavery & later for civil rights? Was it the liberal churches or the fundamentalists ? And when the CIA torture became news did televangelists, their gullible (fleeced) flocks, the Mega Churche$ and the sweet love of merciful Jesus fundamentalists get outraged and rail against the sadistic torture of so many possible suspects and unlucky bystanders? What about healthcare for the poor and people with preexisting conditions ? Who got more upset about the idea of healthcare thanthey did about torture? The religous right maybe?
