Thank you all for the amazing words , love , and birthday wishes :) Last year , on that very day I was laying on the concrete floor of HOUSE staring at a giant hole . This year , I was surrounded by love in a space that has consumed my soul. I want to address some specific issues and questions ASAP . 1. THE KEYS - 5,000 keys had been kicked back due to change of address etc . Because of the storm last week , and HOUSE being underwater , I couldnt address ANYONE . Every missing key will be received this week. If u were offended, or excluded, thats not me, and certainly not the vision of HOUSE. That is exactly why , I physically handed out keys on SATURDAY . 2. THE LOCATION- YES ABSOLUTELY ITS IN THE GHETTO . I wouldnt have it any other way . I was offered spaces everywhere ( including South Beach). I chose the WYNWOOD area because its the future. I want to challenge myself, I want to break new ground , I want to be THE FIRST , and most of all, I dont want to play it safe. I have enough faith in you , to believe you can actually party outside Wilton Manors and South Beach. Theres another world out there baby :) 2. DRESS CODE- I never said DRESS CODE , I said DRESS. I dont care if you wear a creative paper bag , and its certainly not my right to dictate fashion . Take the clothes off inside , but dress at the door. Why shouldnt the gay community be able to be a part of places like LIV , STORY , or ADORE??? Ive built something special for you , TREAT IT THAT WAY. I can make more money going straight , FRIDAY and SATURDAY . I chose instead to honor my promise to you ( THE ONES WHO BUILT ME), you paid NO COVER, and barely paid for parking. So in the end , if youre pissed off , because you showed up in shorts, flip flops, a baseball cap , or tank tops, SO BE IT , If you had showed up in underwear or pajamas , YOU WOULD HAVE COME IN . PICTURES - You are absolutely allowed to take pictures in the STEAM ROOM and the GARDEN . Once you get into HOUSE itself , you ARE NOT. I have to protect the provocative nature of the performers , and respect EVERYONES privacy. The questions of a nightclubs soul are ridiculous. I was at WARSAW, Liquid , LEVEL , and every other space , during that incredible time on SOUTH BEACH. Those are irreplaceable memories, and will NEVER be duplicated . Any focus on romanticizing past glory days is pointless , because theyre gone . As an artist , you must challenge yourself to constantly push boundaries , and be ahead of the curve. A new generation deserves to experience something incredible and connected. We need to stand right beside them , and experience it too. DO NOT QUESTION THAT THIS HOUSE HAS SOUL, WHEN EVERY INCH OF WALL, IS COVERED BY MY BLOOD. HOUSE was never built or intended to be a nightclub. It is a HOUSE in every sense of the word , that was built for you. While Im furiously replacing FENDI pillows , and ripped crocodile beds , that point is clear. I want it intimate, I want you to be able to move ,connect, and most of all , not see HOUSE destroyed. That is why it will always be 500 :)
