Thank you all for the birthday wishes on yesterday! I feel so BLESSED and LOVED! As we are well aware, Mothers do not get a day off! I spent my night at James Davis basketball game! A heck of a game I might add! James is an AWESOME BB player! A BEAST! What touched me last night were the many BD well wishes and hugs from the students (familiar faces and not so familiar faces alike). That showed my how much I had impacted their lives without effort. I realized at that moment how important WE as parents are to the development of not only our children but those kids with whom our kids come in contact. With little effort, I comforted them as I do with my own sons. I listened to them in their time of need without interruption (because its their time) as, again, I do with my own sons. I advised them on their level and gave them options for reactions as they were MY children. Its MY job...its OUR job. Like it or not, as parents, we are our childrens and their friends role model. Whether our impact is positive or negative is up to us. They flocked to me like I was Jesus! They didnt want anything, just to sit with me during the game. Sadly, I had to get rid of them. They were broke! Nobody offered to buy me a game day snack! I aint Jesus! They were not my disciples! They had to go! I am truly BLESSED to have reached 41 years. I took a moment to reflect on earlier years of my life and my poor choices. I immediately heard God say, Let it go Davis! Your latter will be GREATER! And it is! I CANT STOP PRAISING HIM!
