Thank you all for your continued support and prayers, we need them. The oncologist came today and said the CT was negative for a stroke. So he ordered an MRI which she got this morning. The neurologist came in right after she had the MRI. Not the news we wanted to hear, but better than some things they could say. The MRI indeed showed she had multiple small strokes in multiple parts of the brain which affects multiple parts of her body. She still cant stand, now cant really move her legs, cant move her left arm or hand. Neurologist seems to think if nothing else happens, she should have a pretty successful recovery in a few weeks to a few months. They did an echo, lower extremity ultrasound, and a vascular MRI. Dont have results on those yet, most likely wont have them until morning. I would assume if they found blood clots they would move her to ICU to start a low dose heparin or luvox right away and not wait until morning! Because of her IL-2 treatments her platelets are 37 (normal if I remember right is like above 150) so higher risk of bleeding, which makes the use of blood thinners pretty risky. Pray that this is all, no other blood clots so she can move on to the long road of recovery from this. Will be here at least a few more days. Have to get things sorted out as to everything that is going on, get her stabilized enough to be transported from here to a rehab in Eugene. Hoping we can get her into Eugene Good Samaritan in Eugene. Who would have thought she would have survived 6 weeks in the last 6 months of IL-2 treatments, 5 doses her last week which is a lot, to end up having such a bad stroke, the day she was to go home! I know God has a plan, but just doesnt seem fair, give the girl a break! Sorry just venting. I do look at the positives, things could be worse. We will get through this added detour on her journey. She is a fighter with lots of people that love and support her! Thanks everyone, you do make a big difference!
