Thank you all so much for your prayers. They worked! Evelyn has been approved for implantation!! She will have her right side implanted on Monday, Nov. 17th and activation will take place in mid-December. Looking back, I cant believe how far we have come in 5 short months. We found out that Evelyn had a profound loss in both ears on May 28th. Although we didnt get the news until this past week, insurance approved her on Oct. 28th, exactly 5 months after her initial diagnosis. I made a promise to my little girl that I would have her implanted by 8 months and Nov. 17th is the day that she turns 8 months. More than ever, I know that everything happens for a reason. We are terrified out of our minds right now and no words can calm our nerves. Despite these emotions we remain strong, but how? We stay strong because we picture the moment that Evelyn hears us tell her we love her for the first time. We stay strong because we know that this surgery will allow her to eventually say mommy and daddy. We stay strong because we imagine her one day dancing and singing along to music. We stay strong because we realize that we are giving her just one more tool to help her navigate her journey and write her tale. Prayers for this precious girl as she turns yet another page
