Thank you everybody for your input on my last post. Here is an update on my friends cat: The boy is 15 yrs old and has kidney failure. The vet did some blood tests, lowered his thyroid medication and has recommended Hills Prescription Kidney health dry kibble to lower the protein intake. My friend managed to pay for the vet bill but the food is quite expensive. Has anyone had a cat with kidney problems that was put on a low protein diet? Is there an alternative to the dry kibble? Dry food doesnt sound very kidney friendly to me.
