Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes....from e-mail to Facebook, to Instagram, LinkedIn...and in real time... If anyone asks me what the value of social networks are I’ll just point them to today. How did 40 get here so fast? It is unbelievable how quickly time passes. I’ve spent the day celebrating my 4 decades with the family in St. Lucia and had the opportunity to reflect…I was thinking what pearls of wisdom I’d like relate to the kids and thought I’d write them down here (Im sure they arent unique...but thats OK). Ill post this to my timeline and if you feel like it you can add to it... 1) Life is short - I know you’ve heard this before - but it is. 2) Few things are as important as they first seem. 3) Family and friends matter…don’t let arguments or differences eat away at those relationships…it just isn’t worth it. 4) Get out of your comfort zone from time to time. Get up and start creating memories…you don’t have to do monumental things…it can be small…but make those memories. You’ll have better stories to tell when you are older. 5) It’s almost always scarier in your mind than it is in real life. 6) Don’t be afraid to make mistakes…most can be fix easily. 7) If you make a mistake…own up to it…apologize…make it right…move on… 8) Always learn something new… 9) Say “Thank-You” 10) Be active - do it…get out there and do something. 11) Don’t be afraid to spend some money on something nice for yourself once in a while (life is short - just don’t break the bank doing it) 12) Everybody knows something you don’t. 13) ….
