Thank you everyone who helped support the In With Quinn T-shirt - TopicsExpress

Thank you everyone who helped support the In With Quinn T-shirt drive. This morning we broke into Dr Cheemas office to leave him the first of many surprises your generosity helped us create. The story behind this gift: The Bucket- a couple weeks back mike fell off his outside bar and skinned his shin. While at the clinic, the nurse asked if he had any open sores. Mikes response no. The look on my face told the nurse differently as I replied what about your leg honey? Mike was quick to reply that doesnt count, it was self induced. Lol all cuts and sores count my love... Dr Cheema came in the room to check out the leg, shook his head at mike, while smiling, and stated I cant be mad at you my friend, you were trying to be a productive citizen. (His way with words makes us both smile) He went on to instruct mike to soak is leg in a bucket; he felt the need to voice it needs to be a clean bucket. I guess he knows my husband well! At our next visit I told Cheema mike mixed cement in his bucket (which he actually did). Cheema gave mike his famous look; he was thinking mike was still using that same bucket for his leg soaks. Lol, cant help but wonder what Dr. Cheema thinks of us at this point. He explained to mike, in his gental voice, you can buy a bucket at Home Depot for $5 my friend! Hence the bucket from Home Depot that fittingly states lets do this. Also included- The pen light: while staying in the hospital Dr. Cheema wanted to check mikes mouth for sores but the light in his room cast shadows making it difficult to see. Cheema didnt have a light so he reached for his phone. It was at this time we learned his PA Kristy had a playful side as well; she called him out youre video taping his mouth! Kristy then looked to us and explained, Cheema doesnt know how to use his light APP on his phone, he video tapes so the light stays on. Once again, we saw that famous look from Cheema. Stethoscope- you guessed it, he uses others, making faces as he looks at the ear pieces, because he doesnt seem to keep track of his own. And tons of goodies: both healthy for his proclaimed Vegan side and unhealthy to satisfy that other side that eats all the staffs food and sweats regardless to if they are looking. Thank you again for your support bringing smiles and laughter to not only mike and I but all we have been touched by here at St Johns Hospital! Kess
