Thank you for all of the birthday/anniversary wishes they are greatly appreciated!!! I promised a heart warming post so here we go.... It was Thanksgiving day exactly 6 years ago as we opened the door to a little hole in the wall restaurant that we really werent even sure would make it much less support a family with a newborn baby. We were scared, we were nervous, we were trying to remain strong, we were trying to be hopeful, and we were so poor. We didnt have a dollar to our names, seriously not a single dollar. The money that bought the food was borrowed from a friend and what was left over went in the cash register to make change just in case we had a customer or two on that lonely Thanksgiving day. Cody and Pop stayed there all day long and only had 2 tables. We ended that day with $67 and that still wasnt even our money. There was no turkey for us, no family gathering, no pumpkin pie and no going around the room to say what we were thankful for. We had each other, a new business, a healthy baby, and another meal to nourish our bodies, and that was okay. The next day was the one year anniversary of Pops oldest sons passing away. Every time I looked at him all I saw was his pain. Tears that lingered on the edge of his eye lids but never fell while I watched. He looked at our newborn son with so much love and joy, but deep down he was grieving for another son and it was so hard to look into his eyes for I could see the pain deep within his soul. I still see that pain and tomorrow will be no different. Our days turned to weeks, then to months and so on. Our business grew, our family grew, our love found new reasons to grow, and we put everything we had into making our business what it is today. When you walk in our door you are greeted, you are treated like family, your kids are loved, your necks are hugged, your cheeks receive a kiss, you are fed a great meal made of high quality food, and you are told how much we appreciate you. Because our family loves your family more than anything in this entire world. Thank you Texoma for loving our family just as much as we love yours and thank you for a blessed 6 years. We are honored to be here with all of you! Tomorrow is black Friday and our door buster breakfast will start at 8am, I do hope you come see us and please please please remember all of your local small businesses that need your love and support through this holiday season, we wouldnt be here without you and those big stores only know your name because they read it off of your credit card, we know your name, spouses name, dogs name, and the whole family. Please shop local and come have breakfast with us in the morning and keep Pop busy so his day will go by faster... as always feel free to share ☺ ❤ Always, ZaVonna
