Thank you for all of the encouraging comments. I read and appreciate them all! Today was much better. I completed my 5 mile run and felt good afterwards. I still get discouraged that I run so slow but Im slowly accepting it is what it is. I run a 13:30 - 14:05 minute mile. Hopefully as I lose weight Ill run faster. But until I run faster I dont think Ill be doing any official 5 or 10ks. Its hard enough for me to not get discouraged when there are at least 2 people that come out of nowhere, pass me, and disappear ahead of me all within a 2 - 3 minute time frame. If the bell goes off and within 5 minutes I cant see any runners and they have all shot off ahead, Ill be too hard on myself so for now, I will have to be my only competition. But I know I have improved. My first 5k was completed in 59:30, today I ran 4.25 miles in 59:25!
