Thank you for all your messages. Taz is home. He is very sleepy and quiet but has eaten and pooped :) He stopped breathing right at the start of his GA and it had to be reversed straight away. We have had bunnies stop breathing under GA before but from the way the vet spoke it seems it was a rather hairy situation this time. They attempted the GA again and this time he did reasonably OK. The castration was done first then he had skull x-rays taken. These werent as bad as we feared given the state of his eyes when picked up by the rspca inspector. His roots are long but are even with no twisting :) The vet was hoping to biopsy the lumps in Tazs chest while he was under but as he was doing so badly they decided against it. However he did have a fine needle biopsy done consciously later on. This has been sent to the lab and we will get the results in a few days. The vet and us are praying that they are cysts as she is very reluctant to put Taz under again. But for now we are just very very relieved he is back home with us
