Thank you for continued prayers for our family and baby grandson Everrett... Brian & Carrie words are a beautiful tribute to their little boy.... Today my wife and I collectively had the worst day of our lives. We had to say hello and goodbye to our newest Son Everrett. Im torn on posting something this private on Facebook, but many of you knew she was about 8 months pregnant and saw our updates on the progression & excitement we had waiting for him to arrive. We want to be transparent as much as possible to avoid awkward run-ins at the grocery store ( we live in a small town after all) . For the past several days Carrie could not feel the baby move, and Thursday she went into her doctor and confirmed that there was no longer a heartbeat. We were admitted Friday morning at 7 am into Silverton hospital at the maternity ward. Like the rest of our kids this one also took a long time to arrive, this was the longest delivery of them all...it was like Carries body didnt want to give him up. We were dreading being there with the sound of babys reminding us of our situation, but Silverton staff was awesome and admitted us the second we got there to a quiet area of the ward. Our Nurse was assigned only to us and stayed 16 hours with us before being forced to leave, our evening nurse took over and we received the same amazing treatment from her. ( you dont get this from other hospitals, we know from experience) Finally at 3:49 am Carrie delivered Everrett. He was 3.2 pounds and 17 inches long. Carrie got to hold him for a while, I was surprised how soft and warm his hand was. We got home this morning and She is resting. We will have a private service soon with our parents, kids and siblings to say goodbye.
