Thank you for joining me in prayer during the Solemn Novena to St. Jude, October 18th—26th at the National Shrine. The experience of losing a family member or friend is never easy. Our prayers adjust to the change, focusing on God’s loving and eternal embrace both for the soul of the departed, and for those who mourn. Please share the hope of St. Jude by forwarding this opportunity for prayer to anyone who is in need of St. Jude’s intercession. I also encourage you to visit the Shrine to pray in this sacred space via our virtual Pilgrimage. Today I have sent you all nine days of prayer in one message. Please save or print this message and return to it each day of the Solemn Novena to St. Jude. In loving Memory of my niece Christina Tina DAY 1 — Saturday, October 18th As we begin the first of nine days of the Solemn Novena for All Souls today, let us remember that we are not alone in life. St. Jude listens to our prayers when life’s path becomes uncertain and guides us to the light of God’s love. Intention to St. Jude St. Jude, through your intercession, help me recognize that God’s love comes in abundance and that with Him I am never alone. Prayer to St. Jude Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hope. Pray for me when I feel helpless and alone. Please make use of that particular privilege given to you, to bring hope and comfort and help where they are needed most. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in my tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here make your request). I praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.
