Thank you for supporting us today Harpreet. It was an honour and a privilege to have the Honourable Minister spend so much time with us to learn more about our communitys glorious military heritage. We could not have asked for a more courteous and respectful dialogue; the interest was genuine - it was evident for all to see. My favourite moments were watching our proud veterans chatting with the Minister - a real Kodak moment was having Mr Gadri show his family tree. He was positively beaming with pride when he recounted his grandfathers service to the Crown in both the Victorian campaigns( Malakand 1897 / Sudan 1898) and WW1. Im so happy for him - now that was a priceless moment. It was great have Mani Fallon and Dave Hayer there supporting this effort - thanks Mani & Dave if you are watching! I should also mention School District 36 representatives Stefan Stipp and Chris Trevelyan helped to draw attention to how this information actually translates to more engaged South Asian youth in the classroom - thanks for coming along gentlemen. We made new friends today with an absolute star in the community, and Library board trustee , Karen Reid Sidhu. Our central city library has been a wonderful host Ill take this opportunity to also thank Melanie Houlden Chief Librarian for all their help.
