Thank you for the birthday greetings! For awhile, turning 40 made me panic and depressed. But I realize, I have probably 40 more years to go before I leave this earth. Judging from the last 40 years, I am positive I will not make as many mistakes. The bloopers and embarrassing moments have decelerated somewhat! ;-) Plus, I got overwhelmed at the birthday well wishes that I thought, hey it couldnt be that bad! Besides, I am still growing @40 (thanks Rose Fres Fausto for the peg). Yes, yes not vertically and I am definitely working hard so that its not horizontal. But the growth is happening where it should happen--in the depth of relationships, service to community, intellectual maturity (I hope). So here I come, world. Now, as they say, life REALLY begins.
