Thank you for this group. It is especially meaningful today as I scroll through looking at photos and reading everyones memories. We just buried my father, Clifford Walker today. He was a UMWA member for over 50 years and spent most of his career at Old Ben 24, working there until it closed. He finished up at 21 and the picture below was taken as he prepared to leave the house for his last day of work when he retired in 1986, I believe. Thank you for the opportunity to share with those who also mine coal.
