Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes yesterday. To think - TopicsExpress

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes yesterday. To think that over 200 people took time out of their busy day to offer me birthday wishes, I am humbled and appreciative. It was the most perfect day ever. The weather was perfect. The kids all behaved beautifully all day. We spent quality time together. I had the nicest evening with Eric. He bought me a fire pit for my birthday! Ive wanted one forever. When it started raining, I told Eric, The Lord is just spoiling me today. I went to bed feeling loved and pampered. Then theres today. I have had an awful stomach ache that started in the middle of the night. The neighbors yappy dog woke me up at the butt crack of dawn barking at something. (A pig, I think.) I declared today College Days at the Page Family Homeschool. Yes, that DOES mean I served the kids cold leftover pizza for breakfast. I went out to do my backyard chores. My favorite chicken pecked me. My pig wouldnt let me pet her. And low and behold, Jake had locked the back door and there I was in my nightgown, hollering for someone to let me in. No one heard me. I finally released all self respect and went to the front door. The neighbor man across the street was sitting on his porch, and now knows what I look like in my nightgown. (That ought to keep him on his own side of the street for sure.) I rang the doorbell. No one answered. Want to know why no one answered? Because its a rule that no one answers the door without permission. I knocked. I banged and rang the doorbell repeatedly. I lamented the fact that my children are so obedient, and I was never going to get back in the house. I started hollering just as the train went by. SAM! AUDREY! LET ME IN! JAKE LOCKED ME OUT OF THE HOUSE! I realized they couldnt hear me with the train going by. I stood there impatiently until the train was gone, and then hollered some more. I kept banging on the door, yelling, ITS MOM! LET ME IN!! Finally, I heard the lock and the door opened. There was Jake, who had a mouthful of Erics mints, pleased as he could be that hed let me back in. Im fairly certain that the day is only going to improve from here. And if not, well....it cant get worse than being locked out of my own house in my nightgown, right? LOL
