Thank you so much for directing JGivens (my son) video I am so humble and appreciate your work and talent. Spotlight: Francis De La Torre francis Francis De La Torre is one of the most talented and innovative filmmakers working today. He has collaborated with the likes of Sony, EA Sports, Disney, BBC, and Def Jam Records, among others. His music video credits span far and wide, from Reach Records artists like Andy Mineo and Trip Lee, to Petree. His work has received Stellar Award nominations (Trip Lee, “Fallin”) and his commercial, “Go Momma”, was selected as the grand prize winner of Go Daddy’s 2010 competition. Francis is the owner of 8Bit Films, a Los Angeles based production boutique focused on filmmaking, motion, and VFX. A firm believer in the intersection of art and faith, Francis aims for his work to always point toward a larger truth. “I want to create stories that aren’t afraid to express the highlights, as well as the shadows, that human beings experience.” We asked Francis why he thinks it’s important for young people to get involved in the work or eradicating global hunger. Here is what Francis had to say: “I find that one of the amazing things about our current world and generation is the amount of access we have. Access to news, entertainment, education, and resources is literally key strokes away. This access provides us a current perspective to our world’s triumphs, joys, and tragedies. This carries tremendous implications for the young Christian. We are, more than ever, aware of the pain experienced around the globe. In light of this, I find the words in James 2:15 especially compelling. We are literally responsible to feed the hungry. And with our privileged access, the scope of that responsibility is growing. The beautiful part is that this access not only provides additional awareness and illuminates these needs, it also provides resources, bridges communication, and helps build relationships. It links people together for causes and mobilizes the church in a new and effective way. This next generation of influencers is truly equipped to eradicate hunger. They have developed empathy toward social injustice and possess the creativity and determination to change the world.” Trip Lee – Fallin Directed by Francis De La Torre Learn more about Francis and his work at 8bitfilms.tv art · feedOne · film · francis de la torre · hunger Comments Comments More Posts Limitless November 28, 2014 · By Juan Vidal · News Change Where are you looking to make a change?
