Thank you, thank you, thank you.....I could say it a million times and it would never be enough. The Stand Up and Shine Lemonade Stands were a huge success. The total turned in yesterday at the kids party is over $11,000 and still growing! Thank you....... To all the kids who held stands and those that were able to come to the party yesterday. Watching their enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of pride as they raise money for the cause fills our hearts to overflowing. To know that these children, many of whom never knew McKenna, take her story to heart and work so hard to be a voice for children with brain cancer gives us so much hope for the future. To the parents who help build the stands, bake the cookies, and give their time. It is so meaningful for us to laugh with you, to cry with you, to have your support. More importantly, it gives us strength to know that you have joined us in this battle, and that families faced with this disease have more allies in the fight than ever before. And a special thank you to the Smith family for their generous and unexpected donation to the foundation. To the volunteers - Girl Scout Troop 1432 who did an incredible job running the crafting stations at the party. To Malinda, arguably the most amazing balloon artist we have ever met, who brought so much joy to children yesterday (check her out at twistalot). To all the girls and moms who volunteered to face paint and rainbow loom in the hot sun! To Pete Truxaw and the staff at Mamas on 39, our home away from home, for hosting the event and putting up with the craziness yesterday. Because of all of you, researchers will be able to continue their groundbreaking work, and we are moving ever closer to that day when no parent will hear there is no hope.
