Thank you to Lisa Louise, another amazing woman and mother; for sharing her story to raise awareness. This is it: Hi not really sure were to start but heres my story.... My little munchkin was born on the 11th nov 2013. It was a tough long labour, which wasnt expected due to it being my third baby. During labour my midwife had noticed something wasnt right and refered me to the colposcopy clinic but I was stil totally unaware what I was facing! The appointment came through pretty quickly and after a brief examination I was sat down and told I had stage 2b cervical cancer. That was 21st nov 2013. There began countless appointments to map out treatment plans and on 31st dec I began my first chemo and radio session. After 6 chemo sessions, 30odd radio and 3 brachy I was returned to what would now be my new normality. After 10 weeks I had another mri which came back clear of disease... Id kicked cancers butt!!! After months of bleeding, back pain and numerous other symptoms i worriedly called to ask for a mri as I felt something wasnt right. I think because I was so unaware the first time I panic at the slightest twinge! On 26th of nov 2014 just a year after my first diagnosis I was told my mri had showed up changes. After a biopsy and pet scan it was revealed my treatment is doin the trick for cervical cancer and the side effects are that of the radiotherapy however my pet scan revealed I now have cancer in the lymph nodes further up. Round two of chemo an radio to begin shortly but am feeling positive We still need 46,000 more signatures for our petition before the end of March.
