Thank you to all of the veterinary technicians out there. You have taught me, been patient with me, held patients with me, set up and cleaned up, done the impossible and taught me new possibilities, caught my mistakes, shared in joy and triumphs, shared in loss and heartbreak. You are the backbone of my chosen profession and one of the reasons I love what I do. You are phlebotomists, radiation technicians, anesthesiologists, surgical assistants, grief counselors, sanitation disposal experts, bad joke listeners/laughers (not in the job description), manual restrainers, discharge instruction specialists, behaviorists, computer technicians, pharmacologists, and most importantly friends and people. You are the hardest worked and most underpaid people I know and yet are often the most cheerful and uplifting. Thank you for everything and hopefully you enjoy national veterinary technician appreciation week.
