Thank you to all that stopped by the Senior Fair yesterday. Thank you to Jerry Warner for the flag, Thank you to Bob Hunt for your valued support, thank you John Skipper for covering the booth while I ran for food. As I reflect on the conversations I had with visitors one thing came through loud and clear: the people of Lincoln City are not happy with the good old boys network. They voiced their stories of trying to reach out to their representatives only to be ignored or attacked. They told me stories of how they or people they knew have just given up on Lincoln City. It was heartbreaking because I know exactly how they feel. However, I was encouraged that they saw in me, and those that are helping me, a glimmer of hope that this city can turn around. Not one person asked me to do anything for them except to fix this mess. I was also encouraged by how excited everyone got when I shared my vision for a youth entrepreneurship program that would bring the city government, local schools and private citizens together to encourage local youths to begin their own businesses and stay in Lincoln City. Theres 28 days left before the election. Please get involved. If youre not registered to vote, go to mayordon and follow the links to register to vote. Let me know if youd like a yard sign. If you can spend a little time talking to your neighbors that would be great. Im anticipating a tight race because were up against a VERY entrenched group that fears change that might bring others to the table of power (you!).
