Thank you to all the good wishers, likers, thumb sticking uppers and generally good bunch of people that have wished me well for the new business: Mad about Health in Edinburgh. I have noted those who havent wished me well, especially those regular users of FB... I know who you are... be scared, be very scared... because Im going to post another poem before I fly off to Exeter to get to Plymouth tomorrow (visiting my lovely nearly 92 year old paternal gran). In life, it has been crystal to me for years, that when you do well, people can be reticent, but they are the same people leaping on you when they perceive, you are doing crap... oh la la... facebook is fun. This is my favourite poem that Ive written. Had to find a positive way of dealing with them when we lived in Houston: The Thoughtful Cockroach I know I freak you out with my Kafkaesque armour. I hear your shrieks as you leap across the bedroom and run to grab the Raid. You shake the can as your body dances a warpath towards me. But I’ve scuttled under the bed, back through the slit in the baseboard, and I wait... I know you won’t sleep until the fingertips of dawn close your eyelids and you herald daylight as a saviour. I’ve waited, parched and fat with the need to re-emerge, crawl up the purple valance and with antennae in a wobbly V, announce the plague of my return by tickling your nose. And as your eyes stretch open in horror, I know you won’t believe I was coming to say, I’m sorry.
