Thank you to all the parents for the understanding and support regarding the creation of the Board of Directors for our youth judo club. This club has grown amazingly fast in just two years. We have over 130 students and we seem to get 2-3 new students each week. With the Board handling the finances, paperwork, and website, the instructors will be able to focus all their efforts on teaching the kids. Our Riverside Youth Judo Club Board of Directors includes: Riverside City Councilman Jim Perry Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz Joe Bonaminio RPOA Manager Rose Lane Vicky Medina Pedro Villa, B.C.B.A. This is a very strong board that includes members to represent all of our kids. We will continue our mission to remain a highly functional charitable non-profit judo club. We are one of few martial arts programs with a high-level scholarship program. Our college-bound high school seniors are all eligible for a $2,500.00 scholarship! We give monetary awards to our kids who attend science or math camps. We are one of a few schools that offer judo instruction to special developing students. Currently, we have over 20 students with various Developmental Disabilities. About 35% of our students are at-risk/economically challenged - we continue to support all of our students so that everyone can learn Classical Judo in a safe and secure environment, despite financial status.
