Thank you to all who have sent a xtra prayer our way. Our son had - TopicsExpress

Thank you to all who have sent a xtra prayer our way. Our son had extensive knee reconstruction today with surgery going well. Now the healing begins.. We have been fighting kennel cough here with it going around and around. One or two at a time coming down with the nasty coughs. Here is what we know. Most of the time it will just go its course and be over like our own colds, but there are those that it hits harder. I take care with the ones who have other illness that might make them more vulnerable and Teri being our vet is also careful with ours. I thank Teri so much for all she does for us. Always above and beyond. So Madi gets the cough and is due to be checked for her insulin anyway so she goes in and it is determined she is doing well. No temp No lung noise but to be safe we put her on antibiotics. The day goes along well with her eating and getting her insulin and antibiotics and general evening care At 11 Rita got up to take them out to potty for the last time and Madi had vomited and would not move We thought she was bloating. She went to emergency where it was determined she had aspirated and now had fluid in her lungs and now had a temp of 104.something. So she has been on ivs and oxygen over night and still will be through tonight but she is doing well Very hungry and ate like she had never been fed. That is how fast aspiration pneumonia can come on. I am over this kennel cough s**t. Wish these dogs were over it too.. We took Harmony and Amelia to be checked today. No temps, Hearts sound good but Harmony does have the cough and Amelia is just getting over it. Harmony also has a bit of bad bacteria in her urine so onto antibiotics for that. Jace is still coughing on occasion but is mostly over it. Only Blush, Ben and Graci Have not gotten this. Ben may be getting it will watch him..Oh and Amelia has another hotspot. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So it seems not only are the fleas in high form this year but so are allergies and kennel cough. Ours got it from the air borne in our neighborhood. Havent been to a show for a while.. And Charlie never goes to shows and he was first to get this here. Charlie and Jace have gone for walks in the neighborhood prior to coming down with this. Anyway this is just a short piece of our last 24 hours. Courtney is leaving for her sophomore year at college tonight. Gonna miss her for sure. So I send prayers along for all to be happy and healthy. For your days to be peaceful. Give your dogs and other pets a bit extra loves and rubs from us. For those going through uncertainties know I am thinking of you and praying all is well for you and yours as well as for mine. Thank you all for being here. Just writing sometimes helps to get it out and off. I still have a heavy heart and worry but sharing it gives me support from the good people who have been there and know what it is like....
